Heritages and Museums

The Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien is a museum featuring the heroes of the independence of Haiti and the Haitian history and culture. The museum traces Taínos, Spanish, and a section dedicated to the heroes of independence including silver gun with which Henri Christophe committed suicide and the bell used to announce the independence. It also contains chains of slavery, torture instruments, sculptures and temporary exhibitions of paintings.

The National Museum of Art is in central Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The museum contains pre-Columbian works of art from all over the country.

Expressions Galerie D'Art is located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It is one of Haiti's oldest galleries, with a collection of over 10,000 works of art. It was founded 26 years ago with a collection of contemporary Haitian art. The gallery later relocated to larger new premises down the hill of Montagne Noire in Pétion-Ville. During the year, number of individual and group exhibitions are held in the gallery and are open to the public. The gallery is also an active sponsor of the arts and upcoming artists.
